Do come with me and let me explain.
I was asked by Shabby Apple if I would like to review one of their dresses. Would I! I have oft admired their beautiful collection of vintage clothing.
I checked my mailbox excitedly. Gasp! Enter the Shabby Apple vintage inspired dress, New Orleans. Oh the fun that Orleans and I had playing with belts and accessories.
This dress is lovely; and it is extremely versatile. It can be dressed way up or kept simple. It can be a pretty teacher or a nice girl on a date. It's classy enough for a night out or the theater. It's a simple, black sheath dress that narrows at the waist, with a gorgeous collar. I love that the dress has extreme feminine appeal but is modest, all at the same time.
I adore the petals around the collar. Feels so vintage.
Once on, I could see that my belt and tights are two different reds (forgive me?), but I did want to show you how capable the dress is of taking on different styles. Wide red leather belt. Wide black vinyl.
And even a silvery metal belt.
First let me comment on Shabby Apple's service. My dress arrived quickly and was carefully packaged. I was immediately impressed with the weight and feel of the fabric. Even after being folded in a bag and mailed to my home, the fabric showed little in the way of wrinkles. Yes, there were some folds in the fabric, but not the crinkly wrinkly kind that will drive you crazy! I am gonna love this dress!
In fact, a few days after my dress arrived, I had a funeral to attend, and this made for the most understated, elegant dress. I felt very pulled together and appropriate, but very comfortable. I think the dress looks vibrant, even after several hours of sitting, standing, and walking in the sun.
I will definitely be a Shabby Apple repeat customer. I love the quality of the dress. I also noticed that they have very obvious space on their website for customer feedback on each item; and it did my heart good to see Shabby Apple staff taking it seriously, interacting with customer comments and promising to look into issues related to size, fit, etc.
Check them out for yourself. In addition to vintage clothing...
they have vintage accessories.
