Looking Back on 2012 -- Part 2

Dear Dress Lovers,

Tonight I spent a few minutes looking back over pictures taken in February of 2012.  I can remember times I felt not so great, but I see a lot of happiness in looking back!  Once again, the bright white space stands out.

I must get outside more.  I need white in my life.

I must eat more fruits and vegetables.  And use the juicer.  Every day.

And exercise.  Every day.

I bought some awesome dresses in 2012.

Already mentioned:  I had a blast with hairstyles.

I worked out regularly and lost about 10 pounds.  Could it be that happy eating has gained it back!  Now I gotta get happy and lose it again!  Join me?

I sometimes made Montel's green energy drink.  Must do that again!

And discovered a shrub, blooming in January and February, that (what a coincidence) was already growing in my love's garden when I moved here in June.  Must get my little secret cottage garden established.

Now how about something recent?

I modest-fied a very short denim skirt that I am absolutely LOVING!

Altered, overall-style skirt:  Hydraulic, thrifted

Sometimes it's good to look back.  For just for a glance.  You know.  To help you move forward.

  1. Yes, so good to look back sometimes. And think about the good things especially.
I'm trying to eat healthier this year too and take longer walks but I always seem to get hung up in stores on my walks. ;)
I sure love that dress in the first photo with the splash of green in the belt and very creative with the overall dress. I love it!

  2. I love the pic of you leaning against the wall Lynn, you look like a young girl not a mum of four grown and nearly grown children! And I've been meaning to ask you, do you prefer to be called Lynn or Dylan? I need to do all the things you mention here, I was eating really healthily for a while and taking spirulina daily and I felt great, vowing I'd stick to it, but it's all gone by the wayside now. Even though it's freezing here, getting out every day in the fresh, very fresh! air and light makes such a difference to my mood as well. So I'll join you, if I can find the willpower to do it! xx

    1. Hey there Skybaby! Thanks so much! I have definitely hit meno... and now can see my skin getting dryer by the day! Whew! I go by Lynn in my day to day life, but get the fun name Lynn Dylan sometimes, and my husband calls me Lynn Dylan lots, and also sometimes just Dylan. I love it all! Lynn is my given name, so that is what I hear most often. You can use any or all! xoxo Lynn

  5. A beautiful retrospect, with some dreamy images. But I read a lot of 'musts' there in your to-do list - nothing wrong with that, just don't put too much pressure on yourself or it gets harder to achieve all that we want to achieve don't you think? You've got off to a wonderful start by adapting that denim pinafore, I adore the longer style, you look like a gorgeous turn of the century gypsy in that outfit!

    1. Hi Emalina! Thank you! Yes, I am imposing lots of "musts" on myself! But I am being easy on myself. ;) I did enjoy my workout yesterday! My first time doing zumba! xoxo Lynn

  6. Lots of lovely images here, Lynn. I agree with Joan above, in the photo of you wearing pink tights, you look like a teenager!
I find keeping to a healthy lifestyle very hard... I intend to, I do, but it's so easy to stray!
Your revamped denim number looks rather Walton-esque (in a good way!) xxxx

  8. It is lovely to look back on pics, sometimes I can remember what I was thinking about or doing that day, just from the outfit. I must say that on many occasions, I had been having a not so great day but my outfit was what gave me a lift or energy boost. Yay to in-real-life dress-ups!! I love your hair-dos and the beautiful brooch on your lovely red jumper - so much loveliness Lynn! xoxo

  9. I love your looks back, Dylan. You look about 18 in the pic with the sun glasses. It's very cool the way you (I'll use Megan's word) "cannibalized" that skirt to make a long overall dress. As ever, you are so beautiful and creative.

  10. Dylan! You're outfits are right up my alley- lovin' so many of em I can't keep track- the floral, the overall dress, the old fashioned navy blue. And your hair- looks good up! Thank you for making my blog a "go to" and for your own colorful and character driven efforts. So glad you're part of my Rosebud community! Hugs! -Bella Q
